The Heartbeat of CaraVita

Every care plan we write, every clinical assessment our nurses complete, every conversation our social workers have with a family—all of it comes down to one moment: the morning a CaraVita caregiver walks through your loved one’s door.

That moment is everything. It’s why we take hiring seriously. It’s why we staff our own clinical team to support and supervise the people doing the most important work we do. It’s why we built the Academy at CaraVita to provide ongoing training and support.

Our caregivers are not an afterthought. They are the reason CaraVita can show up the way we do.

Our Caregivers at CaraVita in Roswell, GA

Who Our Caregivers Are

CaraVita caregivers come from many backgrounds, but they share a common quality that we look for before anything else: they genuinely care. Not as a job description. As a way of being.

We think that deserves recognition. And we think it deserves support. Here is what else makes them unique:

  • Directly Employed. Fully Accountable.
CaraVita operates on an employee-only staffing model. Every caregiver on our team is a direct employee of CaraVita Home Care—not an independent contractor, not a platform placement, not a temporary worker sourced from a staffing pool.
  • Properly Screened and Insured.
CaraVita screens every employee thoroughly and carries workers’ compensation and liability insurance for every caregiver in your home. You can be at peace knowing that we have done all the work behind the scenes to keep you and your loved ones safe and protected.
  • Consistent Training.
Most home care agencies meet Georgia’s minimum training requirements and stop there. CaraVita goes further. Our in-house Academy at CaraVita prepares caregivers not just in technical skills, but also in specialized dementia care techniques and empathy. Additionally, we train proxy caregivers to meet state requirements for medication and specific health maintenance tasks
  • Supported By A Professional Team.
Our caregivers don’t work alone. Behind every caregiver assignment is a clinical support structure that most home care agencies simply don’t offer. Our in-house team of registered nurses, master’s-level social workers, and certified geriatric care managers is actively involved in every client’s care—not just at intake.

Our Screening Process

Before any caregiver joins our team, they pass a comprehensive screening process:

  • Background Checks
State and national criminal background verification.
  • Reference Checks
Verified references from previous care employers and/or clients.
  • Skills Assessment
In-person competency evaluation during hiring process.

Additionally, all candidates complete drug screening and an in-depth interview assessing character, care philosophy, and cultural fit with CaraVita’s values.

Caregiving is a Calling–And It Deserves a Home

At CaraVita, we believe caregiving is more than a job. It’s a calling to support someone’s dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

That kind of work deserves an organization that truly values the people doing it.

We’ve created a culture where caregivers are respected, supported, and treated as the professionals they are. Because when caregivers feel appreciated and prepared, the people they care for feel it too — in calmer days, stronger trust, and more meaningful connection.

In an industry where nearly 70% of caregivers leave within their first year, CaraVita stands apart. More than 70% of our caregivers remain with us long after a year, building the continuity and relationships families depend on.

Matched to Your Loved One–Not Just Available

We take the caregiver-client match seriously. When we assign a caregiver, we consider far more than schedule availability. We look at:

  • The specific care needs and clinical profile of your loved one
  • Personality, communication style, and temperament
  • Shared interests, background, or life experience where relevant
  • Your family’s priorities and preferences
  • Continuity—so your loved one sees familiar faces as much as possible, not a rotating roster

We want your loved one to look forward to their caregiver’s arrival. That kind of relationship doesn’t happen by accident. It starts with a thoughtful match and deepens through consistent, high-quality care.

If you’re a certified caregiver in Metro Atlanta who believes this work is about heart, skill, and making a real difference in someone’s life — you may have found your professional home.
