The passion to help others and the compassion for their special needs were spawned at age 16, when I become the primary caregiver for my family’s seniors. I saw then how demanding, how exhausting, how emotionally draining such work could be—how family love and devotion, no matter how selfless, were just not enough. Instinctively, I realized additional support was not only desirable but essential to the very viability of the family unit.

That vision has inspired me ever since. As my career progressed from hands-on physical therapy to senior management in elder care, I become more and more convinced of the critical need for reliable, professional, and empathetic senior homecare. For far too long the industry has been dominated by sitters and companions and there was a need for an innovative approach to help families establish a "Healthy Balance" to their lives and care of their loved ones.

The "Healthy Balance program" was developed after a decade of careful observation and experience of watching families struggle to provide care they were not trained to perform safely and personally hiring companions who were not equipped to adapt to some of the challenging care conditions. It represents a holistic approach to bringing our senior clients a satisfying, ever fulfilling quality of life. This concept at CaraVita assists families and our caregivers in not only exploring the role of technology and new equipment advances but also in learning more about proper care coordination, restorative care, nutrition, medication oversight, dementia approaches, activity and personal care. We truly wish to partner with families in their goal of keeping their loved ones at home, as safe, independent and vital as possible.
