My love of interacting and caring for the elderly was shaped early in my life as I was an in-home caregiver for my grandparents and a companion for their friends. This led to my desire to become a physical therapist and health care administrator. Over the last 30 years I have provided rehabilitation and health management in a variety of senior living and health care settings including North Fulton Hospital, Piedmont Hospital, Northside Hospital, Wesley Woods and Community Home Health.
After leaving a large organization where I was responsible for the care of 3300 seniors each day, I decided to offer my talents to the community where I live. My goals for the business were to help people stay as independent as possible at home. One of my greatest joys is in helping families in their role as caregiver. I, like many I serve, had the task of care giving given to me without any preparation or training. That experience shaped my career quest to learn new and innovative techniques to help restore or maximize one’s physical or mental abilities while nourishing their spirit.
My life has come full circle back to my roots in home care. Each day that our team works with families we use our skills and training to develop a home program that can help restore vitality, health and allow meaningful interaction and loving care. I am proud to serve our families in this life giving endeavor.
Joining the CaraVita team in 2007 has given me the opportunity to utilize the varied experience I’ve accumulated during my 25 year career. I have degrees in nursing and communications as well as training as a Legal Nurse Consultant. Starting out as a psychiatric nurse in Dayton, OH evolved into case management, marketing, managed care, consulting, software sales, home health management and finally to my current position in business development.
Having a broad understanding of the many areas of healthcare has been an asset when I work with clients and families to find solutions and options as well as assess medical needs. I’m passionate about the work I do and see myself as a resource to our clients as well as community contacts.
I’m proud to represent a company that truly goes beyond just personal care but strives to educate clients, give them tools to remain safely at home, help them remain as independent as possible and retain their dignity.
I joined the CaraVita Home Care family in 2005. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia Southern University. Taking care of my own family members through a wide variety of illnesses and diseases became my early foundation of caregiving. At CaraVita Home Care, I started out working as a floor caregiver and weekend supervisor in one of CaraVita’s assisted living facilities in Cumming, Georgia. My work at CaraVita Home Care is extremely challenging and rewarding at the same time. I take great pride in the individualized attention we are able to give to all our clients and families.
I am a native Atlantan and have been in healthcare and the medical field in various capacities for well over 30 years. I have worked at CaraVita Home Care since 2004. My job as a scheduler, on-call coordinator and administrative assistant is totally rewarding. I have been thoroughly rewarded and excited by my job on a daily basis. During my career, I have met the most incredible and remarkable people. Working with our clients has been both a life changing and humbling experience. I would not change a thing!
Ginny Callaway, a controller and accountant since 1991, has 18 years experience in financial accounting. She provides accounting and financial services for Caravita Homecare and CVSC, LLC. Her technical skills in financial statement preparation, process development, and internal control for businesses provide a very valuable base of knowledge. Through her many years of experience with accounting systems and software, she is uniquely capable of bridging the gap between software and implementation needed to produce results. She enjoys golf and is an avid reader.
I joined the CaraVita Home Care team in 2006 after moving from Missouri to Georgia. I graduated with a duel degree in Psychology and Family Studies from the University of Missouri. Working with CaraVita Home Care has been one of my most rewarding experiences. I enjoy interacting with seniors and their families on a daily basis and helping seniors stay in their own homes longer. I get to hear all the wonderful stories that our seniors love to share!
